Harvard Art Museums
32 Quincy St, Cambridge, MA 02138, USA

This event is sold out. Join conservation coordinator Alison Cariens for a closer look at pigments in our famed Forbes Pigment Collection. We’ll discuss the history of the collection, the function of the materials within our conservation labs, and the significance of the collection as a “library of color.” Together, we will also delve into the story behind each featured pigment and discuss how each lends a unique window into the history of human creativity. Led by: Alison Cariens, Conservation Coordinator, Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies Free admission, but registration is required. You can register by clicking on the event on this form, beginning on Tuesday, January 6. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the program to allow sufficient time to sign in at the Art Study Center reception desk (Level 4), and be prepared to present a photo ID. Late seating is not permitted. All coats and bags must be placed in a locker prior to entering the study room, with lockers available on the Lower Level, Level 1, and Level 4.
